Rusty Springs Avenel Bewery LaneJan2021After the COVID lockdowns and restrictions during 2020, the Larykins decided it was time to catch up in person. A catch up was duly organised for the weekend of the 30 / 31st January 2020. We looked for a central location for all and we settled on Rusty Springs in Avenel. This ‘quirky’ and relaxed venue is in a rural environment in ‘Ned Kelly’ country, Victoria.

Organised by Larykin Brett Dudley, his wife Naomi and the Dudley family. We had 12 Larys and their partners join in over the weekend for some fun and information sharing, including Drew and Lizzy who came down for Jerrabomberra NSW (just outside the ACT).

Avenel Turned on the Weather…

The weekend was enjoyed by all. We shared the local delights including the Nagambie Brewery, a group dinner at the Avenel pub and brekky at the Avenel café.

It was great to finally catch up in person as one Larys said, “this is the first time we have ever met other Larys in person”.

Valuable friendships and bonds were formed. Many stories and yarns were shared and laughter was the order of the weekend. It was so successful the consensus was to do it again.

A great weekend was had by all. Voices were definitely raised.

After Avenel…

After the weekend was done some Larys continued their travels, and some met up at a pub in Yea for a Sunday lunch. Graeme and Min went to Eldorado camping by the river. Others meandered back to their homes in Victoria.
