Head and Neck Cancer Australia have announced they have received a much-needed $400,000 Federal Government grant. This will give people a better chance of early detection and support people who are newly diagnosed with Head and Neck Cancer to access much-needed information and support.
Thank you to everyone in the Head and Neck Cancer community who supported Head and Neck Cancer Australia’s first Federal Government submission. You helped to Raise our Voices by joining our meetings with Government MPs, the Australian Dental Association, the Royal Australian College of GPs, and by writing letters to local MPs to tell them about the harrowing experience of being treated for Head and Neck Cancer. Also, to argue the case for investing in early diagnosis and better support for patients and their families.
With your support, together we have made a difference!
While this is the first step in the right direction there is still a long way to go to raising awareness in the general public to increase early diagnosis and to ensure that people who are cured but living with the long-term consequences of Head and Neck Cancer treatment have access to the treatment and supportive care they need. We look forward to working with everyone in the Head and Neck Cancer community to continue raising our voices!
