LIVING WITH A LARYNGECTOMY – BY LARYNGECTOMEE’s
RAISING OUR VOICE – SUPPORT, EDUCATION, INFORMATION
The Larykins is a group of enthusiastic, energetic people who have travelled the path of having experienced Larygeal cancer.
A Laryngectomy is a major surgery to remove the voice box (Larynx); nicknamed a Lary.
The Larykin now breathes through a stoma in their neck and makes life changing adjustments to return to their “new normal” life.
The new normal for a Larykin is a road travelled with the support, care and love of their partner, family and friends.
Larykins meet at organised regular intervals and share experiences, table issues, and discuss progress for Larys – share a common goal for awareness and education.
